Student Teacher Self Report (PEDAGOGICAL CONTENTS)
2.1.Teaching methods
Based on my observation, teachers in
TAU-Laboratory school rarely use students center method as their teaching
method, they use teacher center like lecture method as their method instead of
student center. It is because the time for 1 meeting is too short, only 1 hour
and so many students in the class, around 50 students for every class. So the
teachers think that using student center like doing discussion in a group will
take time just to organize the students.
Based on that problem, I use simple
student center as my teaching method. I use brief explanation for the concept
and make students do exercises and seat-discussion as my teaching method then
make students to write their work in the chalkboard and asked other students to
check their friend’s work, and in the end of the lesson, I asked students to
summarize the lesson.

2.2.Learning materials and innovation
Learning materials for biology grade 9 are part and function
of the Digestive, Respiratory and Circulatory systems, Heredity (inheritance and variation), Biodiversity and Evaluation, Ecosystem . My cooperating teacher
used power point text presentation as her learning media, she showed to student
the concept and the exercises for students. I also used power point text
presentation for my learning media but I did some innovations on the concept. I
used a demonstration the
breathing process using the human respiratory model made from recyclable
materials. I think this methode can make students more easy to understand the
lesson.
2.3.Source of learning and technology
Source of learning is by using book, the teacher
book and the student books. The technology that used on the teaching is only
the Slide by using teacher laptop and also the LCD Display in front of the
class. Sometimes the teacher also gave the student a copy of the slides.
2.4.Authentic Assessment
Authentic assessment that used by the teacher is
based on the student task during the learning session, student activeness on
the class, and also student mid semester evaluation result, and also by using
the teacher quiz.
